Where existing programs do not exist, the FipRemote program may be downloaded and used to start testing quickly while the proper Feed Handler is written. The actual Message Format, File Type an/or Character Sets can also be tuned/modified for each individual client.

The usual caveats hold true as to the precision of the documentation. Sometimes it will be slightly in front of the code and sometimes it is just plain confusing. The FingerPost Information Processor is a family of communication packages specifically created for publishing. 

ipxchg IPXCHG translates the Character Set and any Style changes that are needed to process any incoming file. It uses a parameter file, in tables/xchg, to define what the processing should be and how it should be done. 

The change takes effect for all lines in the parameter file lower down until changed again by another 'number' keyword (Why you would specify different number systems for different parts, I have no idea).
